About Behind Closed Doors
Behind Closed Doors is a must-attend seminar for anyone looking to stay ahead in the fast-evolving field of Cyber Security. The event highlights the latest trends and technologies to strengthen your organisation’s defences and offers valuable networking opportunities with industry professionals.
Expect a unique day filled with roundtable sessions featuring real-life stories from vendors, customers, and our experts; hands-on technical workshops; and fun, engaging activities.
For more information, please consult our FAQ below.
Roundtables
The core of this engaging seminar
Throughout the day, participants move in groups from one table to another. Each 40-minute session focuses on a specific theme by a vendor (Technology), a customer (Experience), and/or an Easi expert (Expertise).
This dynamic format ensures lively discussions, valuable insights, and networking with like-minded professionals around topics of your choice.
Technical workshops
We’re also excited to invite you to a series of free, hands-on technical workshops running alongside the main Behind Closed Doors event. Designed for both professionals and enthusiasts, these sessions offer practical skills and the latest insights to help you navigate today’s cybersecurity challenges.
*Please note: the workshops are separate from the roundtables and require individual registration.
Fun activities
Speaker: Christophe Deborsu
After the roundtables, goodies & gifts, and apéro, we wrap up the day with a unique show.
We welcome Christophe Deborsu to the stage: journalist, columnist, author, and born storyteller. Known for his sharp yet lighthearted take on Belgium’s political and cultural dynamics, Christophe bridges both sides of the linguistic border with humour, empathy, and a double heartbeat — one Flemish, one Walloon. Expect an eye-opening, witty, and perfectly Belgian finale to an inspiring day
Gift & goodies
Because December 5th is the eve of Saint Nicholas Day, we can't let the occasion pass unnoticed.
As tradition dictates, the good man himself will make a special appearance to spread some joy: bringing plenty of goodies, sweet t(h)reats ;-), and... some spectacular prizes for you to win.

General
No! BCD can take place anywhere in Belgium. However, we do have a few criteria. The venue must be easily accessible, offer free parking, and provide a peaceful environment with high-quality catering and service. Quality comes first!
Absolutely! All IT professionals are welcome—except "friendly competitors" and those just attending for freebies. 😉
Yes, participation is free! That said, registering and not showing up without notifying us (even last-minute) is simply not done—basic courtesy, right?
In rare cases, Easi NV/SA reserves the right to charge a fee.
We organize one Behind Closed Door seminar per year. So, next edition will take place in 2026.
Practical participation
Not at all! We use an open foyer concept, meaning you can come and go according to your availability.
Yes! Your colleagues are always welcome. Up to 3 participants per company can attend.
However, for everyone's convenience, make sure your colleague also registers.
Definitely! We’ll create a setting that encourages meaningful connections and conversations.
You’ll meet CIOs, CISOs, IT managers, engineers, and many other professionals from a wide range of industries.
In addition to expert speakers, we invite customers to share their experiences, insights, and best practices—straight from the field.
Logistics
Since participants come from all over Belgium, sessions are mainly conducted in English. Between sessions, we speak Dutch, French, or English—whatever suits you. Our team is fully multilingual.
Most of our venues are accessible by public transport. In this case, the Van Der Valck Hotel is Ghent is perfectly accesible by bus.
Van der Valk Hotel Ghent offers offers ample parking, both above and underground. BCD visitors receive a free validated ticket. Additional parking is available nearby, e.g. at Albert Heijn — after 4 p.m. you can exit there free of charge.
Of course. One of the advantages of hosting this edition in a hotel is that we have a few rooms available for guests coming from farther away. While the location is conveniently close to West Flanders, East Flanders, and Antwerp, we also want to offer our guests from further afield the best possible experience.
