EASI is the only company in Flemish Brabant among the Belgian companies with the best management. For the second year in a row, Deloitte awarded EASI with the title: Belgium's Best Managed Company. It rewards the combination of a clear strategy, strong competences, sustainable growth and commitment to the company. Today, Minister Koen Geens visited the company in search of the keys to success.

Koen Geens: “I am proud that Leuven can be a base for innovative IT companies. If a company is named Best Employer in a country up to five times, then something must be positive. We wanted to know what the key is to that success. Visiting the company makes it clear to me that at EASI there is enormous recognition from one person to the other. There is also a dynamic that pushes staff members forward. Not only on pure performance, but also on the qualities that benefit the group. That leads to a huge attraction for young people who find growth and future in this company. ”

“Enormous growth”

Managing Partner Thomas Van Eeckhout: “EASI is growing enormously. Our number of employees doubled in just three years. With such growth figures, it is important that we remain relevant to our customers, our partners and our employees. This is only possible by continuing to question ourselves correctly. That fact that we have been named Best Managed Company again is a compliment for the entire company. ”

Encouraging commitment

Respect, positive attitude, sense of responsibility and commitment to EASI. These are the values that come first within EASI and every year employees receive an evaluation for them. "These values are central to us as a company and our progress," says Laurent Delime HR Manager. “If you score positively, you can become a shareholder after two years. The involvement of our employees is incredibly important to us. Right now one out of four EASI employees is a shareholder."

"To grow successfully, you must share the same values"

"Progress follows its own pace at EASI," says Thomas Van Eeckhout. “It is the result of the combined efforts of all team members. Many companies remain too long in a comfortable but unchangeable model. That is why improving our organization is a continuous process for us. Organization is the basic rule, but thanks to the autonomy we give our employees, optimizing our organization is a game in which everyone actively participates. ”

"Moreover, we notice that when we can combine that organization with the right people and our values, growth is a logical consequence."

ABOUT BEST MANAGED COMPANY

In 2017, Deloitte Private launched Best Managed Companies in collaboration with Econopolis Belgium. This program aims to provide guidance and recognition to Belgian private companies under private control that achieve excellent results. The globally proven framework assesses the leadership qualities and practices of the companies in terms of strategy, talent, enthusiasm and financial performance. Companies participating in the program achieve a turnover of more than 10 million euros. They have been active for at least 5 years, have more than 25 full-time employees, and have a majority stake (> 60%) in the hands of a Belgian resident, person or entity. The headquarters or an important decision-making center of the company must also be located in Belgium. Companies must also comply with the legal, fiscal and ethical requirements in every respect. The intention is for the 'Best Managed Companies' label to grow into an international label of quality and excellence. The program was developed 26 years ago in Canada and has already been rolled out in Chile, Ireland, Mexico and the Netherlands. It will soon also be launched in Australia, France, the US, the UK, Germany, the Scandinavian countries, Scotland, China, Japan and more.
