Description
As a System Engineer - Azure & Cloud, your job is to advise clients regarding new IT projects, play an active role in the roll-out of these new infrastructure projects and audit and maintain existing infrastructure environments. And it doesn't stop here!
In this position, you will be able to constantly develop your technical knowledge thanks to the different projects you will be involved in. You will work in a very interesting technical environment. You will be responsible for various projects for different types of clients and organisations.
As a Medior/Senior System Engineer, you will be part of our Managed IT Solutions (MIT) team.

Responsibilities
After a thorough onboarding, you will take ownership of a diverse and high-impact set of responsibilities within our Azure Team. You will design, build, optimize, and secure enterprise-grade Azure environments while contributing to long-term cloud strategy and technical excellence.
Azure Architecture & Engineering
- Design and implement Azure landing zones with a strong focus on security, governance, cost control, and automation.
- Architect scalable cloud solutions across Compute, Storage, Networking, and PaaS services.
- Optimize existing Azure environments towards Easi maturity standards and best practices.
Governance, Security & Compliance
- Deploy and manage Azure Policies, RBAC models, Conditional Access, Defender for Cloud, and Zero Trust principles.
- Ensure secure, compliant, and policy-driven cloud environments.
Hybrid Cloud Architecture
- Integrate on-premises infrastructure with Azure using ExpressRoute, VPN, Entra ID Connect, and hybrid networking strategies.
- Modernize workloads through lift-and-shift, replatforming, or rearchitecting approaches.
Automation & Infrastructure as Code
- Build Bicep templates, ARM deployments, PowerShell modules, and deployment pipelines.
- Standardize infrastructure using automation frameworks developed within the Azure Team.
Operational Ownership
- Drive proactive monitoring, performance tuning, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Conduct root-cause analyses, health assessments, and continuous improvement programs.
- Manage Business Continuity solutions including Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, and high-availability designs.
AVD & Cloud Desktops
- Design and manage Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365 environments.
- Optimize user experience, scalability, and security of cloud desktop solutions.
Presales & Knowledge Sharing
- Contribute to pre-sales engagements, solution scoping, and technical validation for customers.
- Share knowledge within the Azure Team and mentor junior engineers.

Profile
Must-Haves
- 3–5+ years of experience in cloud or infrastructure operations, focused on Microsoft Azure.
- Strong expertise in:
- IaaS (VMs, VNets, NSGs, Load Balancers, Storage)
- PaaS services (App Services, Key Vault, SQL PaaS, Identity Services)
- Security & governance (Azure Policies, RBAC models, Defender for Cloud, Conditional Access)
- Experience with hybrid cloud integrations (ExpressRoute, VPN, Entra ID Connect).
- Experience with Automation & Infrastructure as Code (Bicep, ARM, PowerShell, Terraform).
- Ability to advise on cloud security, governance, cost control, and modernization.
- Strong English communication skills (Dutch is a plus).
- Ownership mindset and accountability in client projects.
Nice-to-Haves
- Azure certifications: AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-500, AZ-700, AZ-140, SC-100.
- Experience in workload modernization (lift-and-shift, replatforming, rearchitecting).
- Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop or Windows 365.
- FinOps knowledge (cost management, budgeting, optimization).
- Experience in project coordination or technical presales.
- Good knowledge of French.
