Rino Zeoli is IT director at Doyen Auto and runs you through their experience with EASI and Safe2be.
"We tested to see if our backups operate properly in a backup environment in Safe2be. Hence we are now better prepared for dealing with any failure of our critical IT infrastructure. I opted for Safe2be in order to ensure our activities reach their full potential, we have to be able to guarantee that our systems offer a higher level of availability to our users. On the basis of a detailed analysis, EASI joined forces with us in developing two scenarios:
- The first option was to duplicate our system thanks to the corresponding investment in a second IT facility.
- An alternative approach was for us to refrain from investing in a further system and enlist the aid of Safe2be so as to create a redundant environment.
We finally opted for the second approach, so that EASI is now guaranteeing that our systems are available at all times in Safe2be.
Make backups more effectively
We ourselves have been making daily/weekly backups to our computer systems for years now... without any certainty that we would actually be able to retrieve our data in the event of failure! In order to guarantee the validity of the backups, we had to test what would happen if we were faced with a failure.
As we do have backups but no separate infrastructure to test them, we decided to consult EASI about this issue. EASI very soon provided us with the appropriate infrastructure in its Safe2be offering.
In plain language: we tested to see if our backups operate properly in a backup environment, in the EASI Cloud. The various concerns that were revealed during the restore procedure have enabled us to make our backups more effectively. Hence we are now better prepared for dealing with any failure of our critical IT infrastructure."
